The Fern palm is actually a fern, but looks so much like a palm that it's usually included in that category in the Cicadaceae family. These plants were widespread some 200 million years ago, but now only eight species remain. They are common in El Yunque, Toro negro and all high altitude locations in PR that still have native forests - usually foggy and steep mountains.
Now you can bring the Nature@Home with our true rainforest images. You can look at them for hours and feel like you are at Puerto Rico's top road to heaven...PR 143. And the place smells like paradise too ... indescribable perfume from the plants!
